Etienne De CRAZY

This Sunday we welcome the legendary Etienne De Crecy to Youngblood. Crecy first gained notoriety in the supergroup Motorbass with Philippe Zdar of Cassius, then subsequently went on to form Superdiscount with Alex Gopher-- both groups being pioneers of the French Touch sound.

Since breaking out as a solo artist, he's been focusing on his own tunes and a big-production, visual intensive show that amounts to what's basically a giant seizure inducing cube:

Etienne De Crecy Live 2007 Transmusicales de Rennes from Clement bournat on Vimeo.

Unfortunately, Mr. Crecy won't be gracing us with his epileptic cube (the giant LED screen at Venue should be enough to fulfill all your seizure inducing needs), but he will be doing a good old fashion DJ set that I'm sure will be chock full of more French treats than a Parisian pâtisserie. Here's one of them:

Super Discount & Etienne de Crécy - "My Mind My Mind (Live) [Unreleased Version]"

This was a secret Expendable Youth weapon for a minute. It's a bonafied banger, but nobody really plays it because it never saw a proper, widescale release. It came out on some obscure, pithy compilation called "French Attack" that was exclusive to iTunes. Don't believe me? Search for it on Hype Machine-- it ain't there!

Bonus (Another old Ex Youth el favorito):

Kraftwerk - "Aerodynamik (Alex Gopher & Etienne De Crecy Dynamik Mix)"

We also have local support from URB Next 100 annointed, U-Tern. Here are his two latest edits:

Chromeo - "Night By Night (U-Tern's Aeroplane Blend)"

Felix Da Housecat - "Ready 2 Wear (U-Terns Evening Wear Edit)"
